How it works…

We aim to make the process as simple as possible. To get started simply give us a call on 01242-282059 and we can arrange a convenient date and time for us to visit. We offer appointment times and not just vague morning or afternoon slots.

Your Own Personal Optometrist

Inviting a stranger into your home can be daunting and we wish to minimise this as much as possible. You will be appointed your own personal optometrist who will perform the examination and return to fit any required spectacles, offering an unrivalled continuity of care. The same optometrist will return the following year, or earlier if you have had any issues. We would encourage you to have a family member or friend present to make you feel as comfortable as possible…and offer any fashion advice should new spectacles be required.

Your first home eye test

This may well be your first experience of a home eye test. Please just relax and our optometrist will work around you. All our equipment is specially designed for home testing…… we don’t even require a plug socket! There are no special requirements to be made prior to our visit but we recommend performing the examination in a room with curtains or blinds to block out the light. If you are bed bound or the curtains don’t block out much light don’t worry, we can adapt to any situation. If you claim any benefits please make available any official letters you may have listing the benefit.

New glasses

If new spectacles are required we carry a large selection of frames and lenses to meet all budgets. This includes a range of spectacles that are free of charge to those receiving the appropriate NHS benefit. Once any required spectacles are ready your personal optometrist will deliver them and make sure they fit correctly. Should any problem arise in the next 12 months we are only a phone call away.
